Music

If you think all celtic music sounds the same, then you probably haven’t heard Deirdre Ní Chinnéide, Irelands leading singer who is reshaping the genre that has captivated millions. Deirdre offers her music as an expression of a spiritual practice that explores the healing potential of sound with particular connection to the Spirit and shadow of Celtic consciousness.

Celtic Passage

Inis Mór, the largest of the Aran Islands on the West Coast of Ireland, and a place steeped in Celtic Heritage, was the inspirational place where Celtic Passage was written. It is a  musical journey connecting us  to the power of the Celtic world, exploring themes of life and death, the earth and nature, the savagery of war, the redemption of love and ultimately the splendor of creation.

The Celts believed in the existence of other worlds known as the Land of the Sí (spirit). The Druid or Shaman would  travel to these other worlds at will and return with insight into problems and challenges of everyday life.

You are invited on this adventure, an odyssey through this other world. Celtic Passage calls us to remember, to return to the natural rhythms that connect us to a deeper and more joyful experience of life.

It is a musical journey of relationship – to self, to others and to the wisdom of our Celtic ancestors. It is the sound  of  Sunda that calls us home, to the seasons of our own heart.

I Will Sing for you ….Songs to soothe the soul

This album was created this year as a respone to the current global  crises

The songs were written to soothe and calm the soul ,

The title track of the album is one that I think can help with the fear and anxiety that people are feeling at this moment. The voice of the singer is almost from the other world , like the spirit of an angel or guide,  helping us through the place of isolation and shock we find ourselves in while dealing with this global pandemic.A new shore beckons as  our Mother is  trying to find and teach us about love. There is a falling apart , a desolving of the old way but even in the  darkest hour, she sings a lullaby and invites us into a gentle unfolding of a new way and dance.

The beauty of these songs and  arragements  help us to become   still and   listen for the sound of a new song.

In so doing we return home to ourselves, each other and the very earth we walk upon……..
